Boston, MA; SID Display Week; June 4, 2012. Stantum, a pioneering developer of multi-touch technology, and Nissha Printing Co., Ltd., a printing technology company, have introduced FineTouch Z, a pressure-based transparent touch-panel technology, which will be shown at Display Week (Booth 437). According to Stantum, FineTouch Z is the only product in the marketplace today that unifies the intuitiveness of multi-touch with the spontaneity of stylus input – with a single sensor and without performance tradeoff.

Stantum an Nissha have been working closely for the past two years on the technology and will be hosting private FineTouch Z demos at Display Week for customers, partners, and industry analysts.

FineTouch Z is powered by Stantum's patented Interpolated Voltage Sensing Matrix (iVSM) touch-and-write technology, which Stantum showcased at Display Week 2011. iVSM technology supports Windows and Android operating systems on x86 and ARM-based platforms and lets OEMs design tablet displays that allow as many as 10 simultaneous touches combined with high-resolution handwriting input. FineTouch Z also features unlimited multi-touch with neither ghost nor masking effects and offers high-resolution, smart touch capability, an ultra-fast scanning engine, and low-power consumption.

Engineering samples are now available for select customers, with mass production of FineTouch Z slated to begin in Q4 2012.
